The objective of this part is to allow early identification of the hazards of industrial chemical processes, the assessment of their risk and the provision of guidance on the selection and design of adequate control measures. This will enable SME?s to identify the hazards and to assess the risks of their processes and to provide guidance on suitable control measures. Validate methodologies are being produced and they will be available on this webportal as interactive tools. They are referred to the following aspects:

  1. Risk analysis and safety management
  2. Hazardous substances and chemical reaction hazards assessment tool on:
    • ?Reactivity hazards?
    • ?Chemical reacting hazards?-Stoessel
    • ?Oxygen balance
  3. Fires and Explosions assessment tool on:
    • Combustible materials
    • Ignition
    • Fully contained explosions
    • Congested/partially confined explosions
    • Release of gas/liquid
    • Release of dust
    • Gas/dust/liquid (mist) inside containers
  4. Fire safety; the assessment methodology has been elaborated as a questionnaire with 10-15 questions, which will assess to the user regarding their processes.
