Training - Dow Fire and Explosion Index
Introduction to FEI
The Fire & Explosion Index (FEI) provides a simple method to help determine the areas of greatest loss potential in a particular process. It also enables one to predict the physical damage that would occur in the event of an incident. Absolute measures of risk are very difficult to determine, but the FEI system will provide a method of ranking one hazard relative to another. It is NOT intended to define a particular design as safe or unsafe.
The FEI is used:
It is a simple method for determining the greatest loss potential in a particular process, and the Index is used as part of Dow Risk Assessment.
