Differential thermal analysis (DTA)

A technique where the temperature difference between a sample and a reference material is measured.

A technique in which the change of the difference in the temperature between the sample and the reference sample is measured while they are subjected to a temperature regime.

Note that in many process safety laboratories DSC and DTA are used interchangeably.
