Emergency pressure relief design

Emergency pressure relief is a protective measure to release/control the pressure in case of an emergency, i.e. when the pressure becomes higher than the design pressure of e.g. a reactor. The design is based on the pressure generation in a reaction system and the physical nature of the discharged material. Required input data are e.g. density, specific heat, vapour pressure, vaporisation heat, kinetics, (decomposition) reaction heats, molecular weights, etc.).
